WHAT IS BEAM , TYPES OF BEAM

 What Is Beam :-

Materials and processes Beams are often used to strengthen a structure - an element that is a horizontal or tilted beam, often acting on a bend.  This expansion allows it to reduce the weight of metal structures and strengthen them qualitatively.

In modern construction processes, the beam, placed in a horizontal position, is responsible for the transverse load of the overlap.  But some circumstances are forced to consider possible natural impacts, for example, earthquakes, powerful storms and other cataclysms.

No large industrial building of production and even a large garage can do without overlapping, reducing the load on the structure as well as strengthening it.

Types Of Beam :-

1. Cantilever Beam =>

Cantilever beam is considered a very important part in construction science and since ancient times, architects have been giving special emphasis on its ornamentation.  Thousands of small specimens of artistic pieces and toads are seen in Hindu and Buddhist architecture and in Mughal period buildings.  Their copying has become a means of decoration even in modern buildings.

To keep lamps etc. in homes, a piece of brick or stone is taken out of the wall to make tudia.  In raw houses it is often made from clay.  To protect the raw walls from rain, they keep the pallet sieve on them.  The front portion of the sieve is kept on wooden sacks, which exit two to three feet from the wall.

Now-a-days, due to the increase in the prevalence of reinforced concrete, very little tudy is applied under the balcony.  Instead, the design of the balcony is on the principle of cantilever beam.  Cantilever Beam, whether a joist or a slab, shows a tendency to bend downward towards the free end due to the load, that is, a normal bowing of the damping occurs in reverse.  This is called negative salvation, which results in tension in the top floor and pressure in the floor below.

2. Fixed Beam =>

 This beam is fixed both ands. It does not allow vertical movement and rotation of the beam. it is only under shear stress and no moment produces in this beams. it is used in trusses,and other structure .

Fixed beam with uniform distributed load. In this case, the load is distributed uniformly, over the entire beam span, having constant magnitude and direction. Its dimensions are force per length.

3. Simply Supported Beam =>

As the name implies, simply supported beam is supported at both and . one and of the beam is supported by hinge support and other one by roller support . This support allow to horizontal movement of beam . it beam type under goes both shear stress and bending moment.

4. Over Hanging Beam =>

It is combination of simply supported beam and cantilever beam. one or both of end overhang of this beam. This beam is supported by roller support between two ends.

5. Continuous Beam =>

This beam is similar to simply supported beam except more than two support are used on it. one end of it is supported by hinged support and other one is roller support. one or more supports are use between these beams. it is used in long concrete bridge where length of bridge is too large.
